I’ve been comparing prices for my textbooks in the stores around my college (and in) as well as online. I usually get them online because the prices are so much better (on the used amazon sections) but I was jut wondering if anyone else had some money saving tips. I checked out cheapbooks.com because i saw it on a commercial but it sucked. All it gave me were links to ebay auctions.

Try searching for your textbooks at http://www.bigwords.com they compare prices of many different websites to find you the best possible price of textbooks. The reason I think they’re the best is that they compare many items at once, and calculate the best combination of stores to buy at, including coupons and shipping! What other site does that for you? None of them that’s what! They also let you include or exclude international editions, and even renting is an option through them. They let you choose the ship time and then calculate the lowest price using the right shipping type at every store. Its an amazing search engine for textbooks for sure!
buy them used from last years students, they don’t change to much from year to year. they just say they do
There are a lot of online textbook vendors and you can find your books cheaper through other sources, but one of the best things to look for is a textbook buyback program with an online vendor. You can recover quite a bit of the cost of your textbooks at the end of the term if you order from/deal with a site that has a good buyback program. Most of the time the shipping is paid for by the company.
half.com
its pretty cool.
I get most of mine on-line as well. I usually try half.com it is a division of e-bay, but it’s not an auction site. It’s mostly students selling books to students. They do have new books on there, but the majority are used.
